La nuova serie Redmi K20 presentata a Beijing è riuscita a portare un rapporto specifiche / prezzi mai visti prima nella categoria top di gamma, di fatto guadagnando il soprannome di Flagship Killer 2.0.
Adesso, nonostante sia il Redmi K20 che il Redmi K20 Pro abbiano tutto l’hardware del caso, incluso l’ormai raro jack audio da 3.5mm, il sub-brand di Xiaomi non è però riuscito ad equipaggiare i propri terminali con un emettitore di raggi infrarossi.
Serie Redmi K20 senza emettitore IR, Lu Weibing: Non c’era lo spazio
Gli utenti cinesi un po’ infastiditi da questa mancanza non hanno tardato a lamentarsi direttamente con il general manager di Redmi, Lu Weibing, sul social Weibo; l’interessato ha però risposto abbastanza celermente.
Lu Weibing ha infatti ammesso che sul Redmi K20 mancava proprio lo spazio fisico per poter inserire l’emettitore. Lo spazio disponibile è stato condiviso dal motorino che fa uscire automaticamente la fotocamera frontale per scattare selfie ed il jack audio da 3.5mm. Inoltre, la porta è supportata da un sistema Mi Sound per la produzione di audio Hi-Fi già certificato Hi-Res che evidentemente necessità di spazio aggiuntivo.
A supporto di Lu Weibing è arrivato anche il marketing director, Wang Teng, che in pratica ha ribadito lo stesso concetto, non c’era lo spazio materiale per l’emettitore IR. Redmi ha deciso che avere il meccanismo a pop-up della fotocamera frontale per uno schermo senza notch o fori fosse più importante rispetto a questa feature di nicchia.
In ogni caso, se proprio si vuole controllare un televisore o quel che sia attraverso lo smartphone, Lu Weibing ha consigliato l’acquisto dello Xiaomi MIJIA Universal Remote Control, ovvero un apparecchio che può emettere un raggio ad infrarossi a 360 gradi per controllare qualunque dispositivo dotato di ricevitore IR nelle vicinanze.

one of the big and famous usp of redmi phones are its IR ports. Please never miss in any of your phones. I do understand the design constraints but if there’s a will there will always be a way. I will also never advice to take out the audio jack (which is also equally imp) still with the current generation.
Redmi phones are synonymous to IR Blaster + Audio Jack. (Audio Jack until we have good bluetooth headphones in the coming future)
IR blaster is the unique features provided by redmi buy not in k20 pro… really disappointing. Instead of 3.5mm audio port you could provide IR blaster. Hope in next updated phone we will see IR blaster.
ooh! why can MI design the IR port there??? if planned more\they could find place……… they could have put the 3.5mm jack in the rear side of the phone and mount the IR instead. disappointing not to have the ir port in k20…. 🙁
also they could add the sd card slot or OTG facility.

Io avrei rinunciato tranquillamente al jack audio per l’IR in quanto uso cuffie bluetooth e L’IR mi capita sicuramente più spesso di usarlo.
Spero che qualcuno gli chieda direttamente notizia sulla versione global piuttosto che ste fesserie per far gli scherzi…
